More than two years later.

Well a few weeks after the previous post I got my CPL with Multi Engine and instrument rating.  Shortly after that I did conversion to Beechcraft King Air and Cessna Caravan.  Then I started flying for several companies and completed nearly 800 hours of flying on King Air, Caravan etc . ...

Now the big struggle started to try and move on from flying free lance to getting a full time position.  And that was something short of a miracle if one could find a job like that in the current climate....

Commercial subjects passed!

Well now a word or two to catch up on my progress. I passed all the exams for the Commercial Pilot License - It was difficult but satisfactory.

The next portion of the training is now to get my flight test done. Several hours of Instrument Flight Training in a Simulator and in the aircraft. This will bring the next hurdle just that little closer.

Flying is awsome and once it is in your blood it literally takes you by the scruff of the neck....

In between the current practical training I am also study-ing to write the exams to become a flight instructor. This will probably be one of the most wonderful days in my life when I can train others to be pilots.

Just to keep you up to date!

Piloting is fun

Flying an aircraft has always been my dream - and in 1999 I met Jannie Loutzis who became a very good friend of mine. He was the owner & chief flying instructor at the flight school where I enrolled in 2000 to do my PPL. Eventually in 2001 after many hours and joy at the controls of the Cessna 172 trainer.

I immediately enrolled for my Night Flight Rating and passed the test soon afterwards.

The fun then started as I was building hours flying into remote parts of Africa. After a while I also enrolled for my Commercial Pilots Technical exams.

Here I am now preparing to write the exams.

Jannie has in the mean time qualified to become a Designated Examiner with the privilege to also conduct advanced flight tests.

You are welcome to visit the website of flight school where I am now finishing my training the url is www.loutzavia.co.za - I have now also joined the team at the company and I am working at assisting clients to buy the right aircraft.
